Headgear: Hats and Caps

You should always double what you take on a sailing trip for headgear. Why? You will be using your hat a lot. Your head needs protection from the rain, the cold and the sun. Expect to lose at least one hat, maybe two, over the side of the boat you’re on…

Gloves, Garments And Gear

  • Sailing lines can cause major rope burn and blisters, especially when the line runs out fast between your hands.
  • Pack thick and heavy socks to wear along with your sea boots as they will protect your heels to ward off blisters.
  • Pack foul weather jackets and bib-pants. Match the jacket and pants to the type of sailing your going to be doing.
